The Bicar & Derivatives BU inside GBU Soda Ash is looking to expand in new products/services and new markets through its business development department.

To support our fast growing Capterall® Startup www.capterall.com we are today seeking for a new Business Development Engineer for the Flemish region of Belgium, Dutch and Scandinavian Markets whose main mission will be contributing to business development on the industrial water treatment segment.

Job Description:
  • Create and develop a customer portfolio in line with the market and Capterall® business objectives in the assigned geographic perimeter. Phone call prospection is key.
  • Visit customers on their site in Belgium, Netherlands and Scandinavia mainly but not exclusively.
  • Understand the technical customer needs and be able to answer to technical first level of inquiries and P&I optimization.
  • Back-up for trials on customer site.
  • Support the analysis of Solvay’s competitive positioning and propose new ideas for new product.
     
Profile:
  • Master’s degree in Chemical engineering, Chemistry or Bioengineering
  • Educational background and / or experience in industrial water treatment is required
  • Proven experience in phone call and customer portfolio development is key
  • Ability to work in a fast growing startup and young environment
  • Customer orientation, communication and multidisciplinary team work abilities, flexibility and self-confidence. Multicultural experience is a must.
  • Analytical thinking. Problem Solving and open-mindedness is critical.
  • Fluent in Flemish and English is a must. Knowledge of German is a plus.
  • Able to work in an international environment.
  • Ready to travel up to 50% of the time within Europe.
  • Based in Brussels (Belgium) to start

This position will be handled by a temporary contract of 12 months renewable up to 2 years. Possibility to lead to permanent contract if positive results
